Sometimes being a science dad...

means leaving your experiments early because your son has been having lots of pee pee accidents, so they're worried about UTIs, and your daughter is coughing up a lung, so might have a pneumonia.

*sigh*

At least the cells weren't great, cause it's easier to leave them. Anyways, the kids need their daddy!

Everything turned out ok. There wasn't anything wrong with the boy's pee pee, so it's maybe it's emotional? Of course last night he did wake up to go pee at 2 AM ("Daddy. Daddy. DADDY!").

And at least the girl doesn't have a pneumonia, and her ear tubes are still in. Let's hope we get another winter out of those suckers. And that the faucet that is her nose stops leaking.

At least I didn't have to leave my cells to die, but I did have to leave several students in the lurch and a grant proposal process on hiatus to be a science mommy this week, too. Hope your kiddos are feeling better soon!! This streaming-nose/constant ear infection cycle sucks, huh?

Constant ear infections were the worst. I think during her first year she had 8 (or more) ear infections. Yet she was the calmest little baby, that often we couldn't tell. Even our pediatrician once said, "well, I wouldn't have guessed it by looking at her, but both of her ears are infected. The tubes were a total godsend.

But I do recall having to leave some very good cells I was imaging because daycare called and the poor thing had a raging fever. I didn't have the stroller that day, so had to walk with her, carrying my bag, her diaper bag, and her. I thought my arms would fall off. The little sweetie just slept the whole time.
